Event details

A road accident in Atimonan, Quezon on Monday (May 6) has left 73 injured and three dead. A tour bus collided with a 10-wheeler truck along Maharlika Highway diversion road in Atimonan, Quezon on Monday night. Initial report said that the tour bus driver was trying to overtake several vehicles when it collided into the approaching truck. The driver of the truck, 29-year-old Benedict Borja Belencio, and truck helper, 28-year-old Michael Gerona Sy, were both killed inside their vehicle. A bus passenger, 46-years-old Pio Jacob del Monte, died from serious injuries. The injured passengers were brought to Doña Martha Memorial District Hospital and Nuestra Señora Delos Angeles General Hospital.
